How Our Office Works
Our regular office hours are Monday to Thursday, 8am – 3:30pm and Friday, 8am to 12pm.
You may reach our staff by calling (813) 788-7662 or request an appointment online.
Our afterhours answering service will notify Dr. McGrane of urgent requests for consultation from nursing facilities, ALFs, ED department physicians, and hospital nurses.
If a patient has an urgent medical issue after hours, they should call 911.
If you are having a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. DO NOT WAIT.
Dr. McGrane’s answering service will page him for a call back to the facility, hospital, or home health agency if they determine emergency orders are requested.
We accept many insurance plans, Medicare, and secondary carriers, which are not HMOs. We encourage you verify with your insurance company whether Dr. Daniel McGrane is in-network for your particular plan prior to your appointment with us.
As participating providers for your insurance plan, we will gladly file a claim with your insurance company on your behalf. To ensure we may submit your claim efficiently, make sure to provide our staff with your most current insurance information at every visit and notify us of any changes. We recommend you thoroughly review your plan’s coverage because services you assume to be covered may not actually be covered. Please contact your insurance company for specific questions about your plan.
If you have a new insurance plan, be sure to verify with your insurance company whether your plan has a co – pay or deductible, so that our office can collect the correct amount per your plan.
For your convenience, we accept most major credit and debit cards as well as cash online payments via Zelle and Cash App. For established patients with accounts in good standing, we accept checks at the time of visit, as well. If you are a new patient without insurance, a cash deposit is required upon check-in, along with payment for any additional charges incurred during the visit.
No – you are responsible for paying for our services at the time of your visit with us. Based on our agreement with insurance companies, Medicare, and federal guidelines, we must collect your payment at the time of service. If your insurance plan requires co-payment, co-insurance, and/or a deductible, you must pay that during your visit.
As a new patient to Dr. McGrane, we ask that you bring a photo ID, your current insurance information card, and a list of your current medications, including dosages. We have provided new patient registration forms, so you can complete them at home, and bring them to your initial appointment.
If you are not insured, we require a deposit upon check-in and payment for any additional charges due for services received. Checks are accepted after you are an established patient in good standing. Patients are generally considered established after their third visit with the doctor.
It is the policy of the office of Daniel McGrane MD to refill your regularly taken medications during your scheduled telemedicine or in-person clinic visits. Refills are sent by Dr. McGrane via E-Scribe electronic transmission directly to your pharmacy. This E-Scribe record is recorded in your personal Electronic Medical Record.
Dr. McGrane offers E-Scribe electronic transmission of prescriptions to any pharmacy in the US, making it convenient for you to travel and keep your medications on hand.
If you are prescribed medications that your insurance will not cover, Dr. McGrane will provide documentation to your carrier as requested, but we are unable to control your insurance coverage. If your insurance carrier determines they will not pay for your medication and you do not want to pay for it out of pocket, you can schedule an appointment to discuss other medication options.
We encourage you to schedule routine appointments with your doctor, so your medical condition can be monitored, any necessary lab work can be completed or reviewed, and your prescriptions can be refilled in a timely manner. Dr. McGrane aims to provide you with ample medication until your next scheduled visit. Keeping your regularly scheduled appointments is important to ensure you do not run out of medication.
If you are prescribed medication at your visit but your condition has either not improved or gotten worse, schedule a visit with the doctor for further examination.
We do not accept refill requests or change of medication requests by telephone or fax. Your pharmacy can advise you on the status of upcoming refills and when you will need new prescriptions for processing.
Dr. McGrane will follow Florida State’s strict guidelines when prescribing narcotics, sleep aids, and pain medications. To receive a RX renewal for a scheduled narcotic, it is necessary to schedule a visit with Dr. McGrane to discuss your need for the narcotic. If the need is justified, a prescription will be processed through E-FORCSE, the government’s monitoring database, and E-Scribed to your pharmacy of choice.
Dr. McGrane does not have information on your pharmacy policy for filling, you may want to speak to them before requesting E-Scribe to the pharmacy. If your chosen pharmacy has been E-Scribed an order that they will not fill, it will be necessary to schedule another appointment with Dr. McGrane to request that the order be canceled and reissued through the government E-FORCSE database and patient electronic health record (EHR).
Dr. McGrane’s clinic does not provide lab results reviews over the phone, by fax, or email. If you are an existing patient, you have access to your medical records through the patient portal online and can receive a copy of any record in your EHR.
If you are scheduled for a follow-up visit to discuss your lab work, please be sure to keep your appointment. During that follow-up visit, the doctor will not only review your lab results and answer your questions, but will also examine you, discuss treatment options (if necessary), and next steps.
Schedule an in-person or telemedicine appointment with the doctor to discuss your letter form or medical release clearance needs. If the document is issued by an employer, other source, DMV, or specialty physician, please provide the document to our office at the time of scheduling.
Medical history and physical forms for entry into ALF or SNF can be completed during telemedicine visits. The office should fax the required forms to Dr. McGrane prior to the scheduled visit.
